wisdoms walk by the windows of my kitchen
i'm busy not sleeping; brewing something bitter
better lights trace wrinkles while windowpanes slither
dance on my frown lines with delicate fingers

i dedicate the dark to cash lost between cushions
wishing wells we don't mean to feed cash scraps forgotten
fears born from nonsense mistakes, roads verboten
clean slates craved by jumpy drunks, junkies and authors of
thankless prayers skipped out reckless to deeper waters
waded through cesspools of endless estrous night terrors
sweated thru brand new sheets, adolescent helplessness
i can't remember how to breathe, the night air seems the heaviest

down a pipe full of ladders into a well
driven by a depression or a dent in my forehead
i smashed my glasses, i was dizzy, carousel confessions
and birds round my head raining maggots
marginalized my college ruled hole punches to the gut
and a passing admiration for caskets, heretics
and the flare when a cigarette burns out
my mouth feels oh so melodramatic
my permit for panicking hasn't come in the mail yet
old makeup mistakes caked new under-eye depth
deep dark circles built a beautiful half of Baphomet
you sleep where he slept, and he weeps where i'd wept
worries warped and weft, worn close
these loose threads loom higher
horizon lies behind black dog hide storm towers
i dreamt that you were here kissing flowers
